About the Course
This course is intended to provide in-depth knowledge of a wide range of wines and spirits. It focuses on factors that influence the style, quality and price of wines and spirits from major wine regions of the world. All Advanced courses are supported by an online classroom for the duration of the course. You will taste 76 wines and six spirits and develop analytical tasting skills to a high level of competency using our systematic approach to tasting.

What level of knowledge will I need to start this course?
This course is open to students who hold the Level 2 Award or Intermediate Certificate in Wine & Spirits. However we recognise that there are students who may have experience and knowledge in the wine business that is equivalent to the Intermediate Certificate. These students can gain access by successfully completing the Level 3 Award online entry test. For those who do not hold the Level 2 Award you may wish to take our Novice to Professional course which covers Level 2 & 3 content as a combined course.

Exam
The WSET Level 3 Award examination comprises of two parts. A a combined theory paper consisting of a 50 question multiple-choice section and a five question short answer written section; and a blind tasting of two wines. A mark of 55% is required in all sections to pass with the exam taking place in the last session of each course.
Scholarship Prize Winners
Each year students with the highest marks in the Level 3 Award in Wine & Spirits are asked to compete for prizes including trips to vineyards both in Europe and around the world. Winners and graduates are also invited to attend the graduation at the Guildhall in London. Find out more…
